🥬🫑🌶️ A spoonful of rest: We can pickle it! 🫙🧅🧄 (in Berlin, on-site event)
Driven by a desire to create more opportunities for togetherness and learning in a warm and welcoming atmosphere and inspired by a series of gatherings introduced by Monika Dorniak—whose practice explores inter- and transgenerational interconnectedness, ancestral practices, and embodied memory—Neue Nachbarschaft Moabit, along with its community and with support from SoC Alumni, invites you to join us this Friday (Oct 25, at 6 pm) at Beusselstraße 44, 10553 Berlin for a special event.
As part of the session, we will come together to cook a shared meal and learn several fermenting techniques as part of the skill-sharing component of the evening.
This gathering is also inspired by “A Spoonful of Care,” an immersive two—hour hybrid event held in Berlin, Zurich, Vienna, and online last October. You can read more about it here.
Following the spirit of the first “Spoonful of Rest,” we aim to resist the relentless pace of modern life by embracing rest and nourishing practices as acts of commoning. Together, we will celebrate the communal acts of fermenting, cooking, and dining.
This is a two-part event:
1)First, we ferment 🌱 🥬🫑🧅🧄🫙and in a month, 2) we will reunite to savor the fruits of our shared efforts🥙🍲🥗 more info to come! 💌
With Neue Nachbarschaft generously opening their kitchen for the fermenting and cooking session, we kindly ask you to bring clean jars🫙🫙🫙 to use and share. All produce and cooking supplies will be provided on-site, with the support of Neue Nachbarschaft and SoC Alumni.
